Best Northern Tanzania Safari - 8 Days

Overview

Honestly, i’m tired of seeing the same old safari packages online. Everyone promises the ‘best.’ However, most of them just put you in a crowded truck. Moreover, they often call it a day too early. Consequently, you miss out on the real magic of the wild.

If you want something real, look at this 8-day route. Actually, we’ve spent years figuring out this circuit. Let me tell you—timing is everything. For example, you don’t want to just ‘see’ the Serengeti. Instead, you want to be there at sunrise. Furthermore, you want peace without another soul around for miles.

Why Our Route is Different

Similarly, this trip isn’t just about ticking boxes like Ngorongoro. Specifically, it’s about those small moments. For instance, you might enjoy a quiet lunch in the bush. Alternatively, you could catch a leopard hiding in a tree. This happens because your guide actually knows where to look.

Because we live here, we don’t do ‘generic.’ Rather, we do authentic. In short, if you want a real adventure, this is it. Clearly, your camera will thank you later. Most importantly, you will leave Tanzania with a story to tell.

First, our team will meet you at Kilimanjaro Airport for a warm welcome. Afterwards, we will drive you straight to Kibo Palace Hotel. Actually, you can relax and settle in before we meet for dinner. Specifically, this is the best time to rest before the safari begins.

  • Meals: B, L, D included.
  • Stay: Kibo Palace Hotel.

After finishing a quick breakfast, we hit the road for Tarangire National Park. Actually, we plan to arrive just in time for a fresh lunch at the lodge. Once we’ve recharged, we’ll head out for an afternoon game drive. Specifically, you’re going to see those iconic, giant baobab trees scattered across the rolling savanna.

Most importantly, Tarangire is legendary for its massive animal numbers. If you visit during the dry season—between June and September—the view is incredible. During this time, thousands of zebras, wildebeests, and even rare oryx move from the dry plains toward the Tarangire River. Naturally, because there’s so much prey, lions and leopards are never too far behind. In addition, the acacia parkland here offers some of the best backdrops for your photos.

Quick Info:

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (B,L,D) are all ready for you.
  • Stay: Your lodge stay can be arranged for a small extra cost.
  • Pro Tip: Clearly, the river bank is where the best action happens, so keep your binoculars ready!”

Next, we head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This place is famous because it sits right on the rim of the massive crater. Afterwards, we begin our afternoon tour. Actually, the adventure starts with a steep 600m drive down to the crater floor. Clearly, standing inside this huge natural bowl is a feeling you won’t forget.

Most importantly, the crater covers about 260 sq. km and is a true wonder of the world. Because it has water all year, the animals never leave. Consequently, you can easily spot lions, elephants, and even the rare black rhino. In addition, you will see buffaloes and many other species roaming around. In short, it’s one of the best spots for wildlife on the planet.

Plan for the Day:

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (B,L,D) are all included.
  • Lunch: Specifically, we will arrive in time for lunch before starting our drive.
  • Stay: Overnight at Serengeti Acacia Camp. (Extra stay can be arranged if you need).
  • Optional: Furthermore, if you want to change your accommodation, just let us know.

Next, we head towards the legendary Serengeti National Park. On the way, we stop at Olduvai Gorge. Actually, this is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world. Dr. Louis Leakey discovered early human remains here. Afterwards, we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti. Specifically, we keep an eye out for zebras and giraffes roaming the plains

Furthermore, Day 5 is dedicated to the world-famous Great Migration. Specifically, around June, you can witness over a million wildebeests moving toward the Maasai Mara. Naturally, predators like lions and cheetahs follow them closely. Because of this, the action is intense. In addition, bird watchers will love spotting some of the 500 species found here.

Similarly, we spend another full day exploring the vast plains. Most importantly, we aim to be in the right spot at the right time for wildlife action. In short, we return to the Serengeti Acacia Camp for meals and rest. Clearly, this is where you feel the true rhythm of Africa. Plus, the sunset here is absolutely breathtaking.

First, we’ll grab a quick breakfast before heading out for one last morning game drive in the Serengeti. Actually, the early morning is the best time to catch the big cats while they are still active. Afterwards, we will proceed to the Acacia Luxury Camp to enjoy a fresh lunch.

Next, we’ll start our drive towards Karatu in the afternoon. Specifically, we are heading to the Acacia Farm Lodge to settle in for the night. Once we arrive and check in, you can relax and enjoy a great dinner. Clearly, the change from the flat plains to the green highlands of Karatu is a beautiful sight. In short, it’s the perfect way to wind down after a week of intense safari action.

Quick Summary:

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (B,L,D) are all included.
  • Stay: Overnight at Acacia Farm Lodge.
  • Note: Furthermore, if you want to upgrade your stay, this can be arranged for an extra cost.
